too bad life isn't fair

We seem to think that life should be great, filled with joy and that suffering and hard times are abnormal. We act as if it "isn't fair" when bad events occur, we curse God as the cause whenever we stub our toe, make poor decisions that lead us into trouble, or just have a bad attitude. We blame others when we make bad choices. We blame our parents, our school teachers, our bosses our spouses, our kids when life isn't smooth and filled with a choir singing the pepsi song from the 70's in the background of our life.

Why? Why do we believe we are "due" a good life? an easy life? a life free of strife? Who promised us that? Where is it written that I am "owed" this perfect reality?

Haven't found the source yet, still looking.
What were the promises made by our parents? Our Spouses? Our society? Our God?
I know some of the promises made:

  • pursuit of happiness
  • IF you then I....
  • Cinderella got a Prince so can you
  • Good people get.......
But those are all subjective? concepts to teach? attainable?
Maybe.
What I've learned is that Cinderella had a Brillo Pad to keep her knight's armor bright. Happiness is pursued but not always kept. If I... then you might.... and good people? They used to but anymore they don't seem to.....

So, live life with joy in spite of the problems, see past the trouble, do what is right even if it is hard, don't give in just because the road is filled with potholes. Don't whine, don't winge, don't quit.
Keep moving forward and realize everyone faces trials, some become stronger through the process, some pout, complain it isn't fair and others just fold up and die. I choose to be stronger.
