Swimming Upstream - when your fins are worn out

Being a godly woman is hard at the best of times. But when stress overwhelms your ability to fight off physical woes, emotional discouragement  and spiritual defeat then it can be even harder. We find ourselves worn so badly that if we were a pair of Loubiton Shoes we wouldn't fetch even $3.00 at a yard sale. We are so drained we have no liquid left to even produce one tear, much less weep.

Yet we go on. We look to Christ and recall he promised his strength in our weakness and we sigh, take a breath and go on.

We may ask God to relieve us, we may pray for deliverance, we may wish for a maid, a free therapist, a visit from Jesus himself to answer our worries, but we go on.

Don't underestimate the value of dogged persistence. Sometimes that is what will get you through the toughest times, the moments when if you sit down you won't be able to rise again from the floor.
Cliches usually are born from repeated behavior.
 So, know this.
At times you will face trials that seem to be insurmountable. Climb.
You will deal with grief and emotional pain that is crippling. Cry and continue.
You will be dog tired and have little strength left for those you love. Breathe, hug and keep going.
Soon, soon, never soon enough but soon..... you will have relief.
You will gather your breath, you will be stronger and able to keep going.

So sister fish, keep swimming.
